Details
Lake Alexander is a large man made lake / swimming hole located in East Point Reserve, Darwin. It is very close to Darwin City and is popular for water activities as you can swim here all year round. The council monitors the water quality, and will close the lake if any issues arise.
The lake is safe from crocodiles and dangerous species of jelly fish, and is filled with filtered ocean water at high tide. There are signs saying that there can be jelly fish in the lake and they may sting or cause skin irritation, but they are not the deadly types of jelly fish.
There are showers, toilets and picnic areas near Lake Alexander, and plenty of shady trees to relax under. Dogs and pets are not permitted in Lake Alexander, as it is part of the East Point Reserve. The lake is open for use during daylight hours.
